After 20 days of suspension imposed by the MTRCB, ABS-CBN talent variety program “ Showtime ” returns on air. The top-rating talent variety program was suspended last January 11 after one of its guest judges, Rosanna Roces, made an embarrassing statements against the teachers in the January 7 live show. A temporary show “Magpasikat” replaced Showtime during the suspension. With Showtime's big comeback ABS-CBN give an official statement:
Here is the official statement of ABS-CBN Management regarding the return of Showtime:
ABS-CBN is happy to announce that the talent-variety program “Showtime” will return on-air starting tomorrow, 19 Jan 2010, following the issuance of a temporary restraining order by the Court of Appeals enjoining the MTRCB from continuing to enforce the preventive suspension order on the show.
We welcome the CA resolution dated 15 January 2010, which states: “For reasons afore-stated, and as prayed for by petitioner, let a TEMPORARY RESTRAINING ORDER be issued, as it is hereby issued, effective sixty (60) days from notice hereof, enjoining respondent MTRCB, including any and all personsacting in their behalf and under their command and authority, from continuing to enforce the Preventive Suspension Order dated January 11, 2010 issued against petitioner, pending the resolution of the instant petition.”

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board ( MTRCB ) imposed a 20-day preventive suspension for ABS-CBN’s talent variety program because of the controversial statements that was thrown by the guest judge Rosanna Roces aka " Osang " in a previous episode of "Showtime" against teachers
Here's ABS-CBN's official statement regarding the matter:
In the spirit of self-regulation, ABS-CBN removed Rosanna Roces as a judge in SHOWTIME after she made statements against the teachers in the January 7 live show. But despite this, MTRCB still imposed a 20-day preventive suspension for the program.
A preventive suspension is issued to stop further violations, if there were any committed, or for the interest or welfare of the public. Thus, the network questions the need for said preventive suspension when Rosanna Roces has already been removed from the program.
SHOWTIME is a highly entertaining show watched by many Filipinos. It helps promote and showcase the creativity and talent of kapamilyas nationwide, uplifts their spirit and provides opportunities to improve their lives.

The movie also sealed the box office king and queen status of John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo for second year in a row.
The Star Cinema entry I Love You, Goodbye is now at no. 2 of the MMFF Box Office race as of January 6, 2010.
Maintaining its position, Ang Panday under GMA Films is still the no. 1 top-grosser with P97.6 million. Star Cinema’s entry I Love You, Goodbye which is in the 2nd place, raked in a total of P91 million at the expense of Vic Sotto’s Ang Darling Kong Aswang which dropped to 3rd place.
