Manny Pacquiao Versus Floyd Mayweather Jr. to be Aired on GMA

The upcoming fight of Manny Pacquiao Versus Floyd Mayweather Jr. will be officially aired under GMA Network and Solar Entertainment on free TV and cable — this includes any future fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. or any other opponent to be faced by the world’s pound for pound king.

pacquiao vs Mayweather

GMA Network and Solar Sports have previously airing the Pinoy boxing sensation’s fights, and this partnership will continue as the Pacman has signed a new contract with Solar, which gives the latter the rights to broadcast his fights until 2013.

In an exclusive interview with GMA sports correspondent Chino Trinidad, Solar Entertainment President Wilson Tieng confirmed Pacquiao’s signing of a renewal contract with their company. “A few months ago, (Manny) renewed his contract. So, Solar’s contract with Pacquiao is up to 2013. Hindi lang ito na-publicize,” Tieng said.

Tieng’s announcement comes at the heels of speculation that Pacquiao’s fights may be aired over another channel , after reports on the arrival of Top Rank President Bob Arum in Manila. Arum is in the Philippines to personally talk to Pacquiao regarding his possible bout with Mayweather, Jr.

“I am here to meet with Manny. I wanna see what is possible and what is not possible. But in the end I am confident we can come up with something,” Arum said in an exclusive interview with GMA sports correspondent Chino Trinidad.

With Pacquiao set to run for a congressional seat, Top Rank’s CEO admitted that the boxing superstar has his hands full as of the moment. But the Pacquiao-Mayweather Fight is something that refuses to be sidelined, as clamor for the bout reached unprecedented heights after Pacquiao gave Puerto Rican boxing superstar Miguel Cotto a 12-round beating last November.

“I think it is the fight everyone is talking about. It goes back to the days when Ali fought Frazier for the first time in Madison Square. I want to talk to Manny and will proceed from there,” Arum further intimated.
Should the Pacquiao-Mayweather Fight, which experts have been calling the “Fight of the Century”, push through, viewers will be able to watch it for free on GMA Network and Solar Sports.

“We are tied up with Manny until 2013. Whether against Mayweather or whoever else, Solar will still have the airing rights for the Philippines. With our partnership, we’ll still air the fights on GMA and Solar TV”, said Solar Entertainment COO Peter Chanliong.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Behind the Scenes Teaser Trailer

A teaser trailer of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 was released by Warner Bros. as a special feature on the DVD/Blu-ray of Harry Potter and Half-Blood Prince.

The teaser trailer has a 50-second video that includes a behind the scenes look from the movie with brief introductions from director David Yates and producer David Heyman.

Daniel Radcliffe has this to say about “Deathly Hallows Part 1″: “This is a road movie. People have been so used to seeing Harry Potter at Hogwarts and we’re just not there for the first part of the film. That seems to have really freshened things up, and hopefully will get people seeing the films with fresh eyes again, because its just a totally different look when you’re not just sat in the same room the whole time.”

All PBB Double UP Housemates Nominated for Eviction

In the history of  Pinoy Big Brother  this is the first time that all Housemates was nominated for Eviction this was announced by Pinoy Big Brother during the 7th Nomination Night last Sunday (Nov 29) in “PBB Double Up.” because of this the public then gets to vote for the housemate they want to be evicted.

all pbb double up housemates

During the live nomination night, Big brother announced that the nomination they did was a mock only for all of them are this week’s nominees. Due to this big twist, the audience will not vote to save their favorite housemate, but will VOTE TO EVICT the housemate they want to leave PBB in the upcoming 5th Eviction Night.

Before this shocking development, Big Brother had the housemates undergo an unusual process of nomination where housemates casted their votes on two housemates from the other house. In that round of nominations, Johan and Yuri were nominated from House A, while Rica and Rocky were the nominees from House B. Then in the second round of nominations, Big Brother gave the houses the liberty to discuss and change the nominations result. Rica and Rocky remained to be House B’s nominees while Yuri was replaced with Kath to join Johan for House A nominees.

Meanwhile, Big Brother addressed the discrimination issue involving the House B boys and Rica. Big Brother called in the four boys to the confession room and asked if they were ever bullied or mocked when they were young. Rocky admitted that he was often mocked for his teeth, Hermes and Patrick were teased for their skinny frames, while Rob didn’t seem to take teasing against him too seriously. Afterwhich, Big Brother made the housemates realize that the boys were doing the same bullying and mockery against their housemate, Rica.

Last Saturday (Nov 28), Rob was also named the Fourth evictee of Pinoy Big Brother Double Up. Rob, who hails from Austria, was one of the original members of House A, and immediately received a task to make the housemates believe that he is in a serious relationship with transgender Rica.

In a few weeks time, Rob was moved to House B, where he was part of many unforgettable incidents. He was seen to be misbehaving during the Hawaiian Themed welcome party for Finnish housemate, Katlin Laas. His temper was also tested during the Pinoy Big Battle where he nearly initiated a verbal war with his former housemates.

Reminder to all PBB voters, for this week, you will vote to evict the housemate/s you want to leave PBB. The housemate with the highest percentage of vote will end his/ her journey as housemate in the upcoming 5th Eviction Night.

Vanessa Hudgens Stars in ‘ Beastly ’ Fantasy Movie

Beastly is a modern-day “Beauty and the Beast” fantasy movie starring Vanessa Hudgens and the British sensation, Alex Pettyfer.

beastly fantasy movie

Beastly is an upcoming fantasy romance feature film, based on Alex Flinn’s 2007 novel of the same name. The film “Beastly” is written and directed by Daniel Barnz and stars Alex Pettyfer, Vanessa Hudgens, Mary Kate Olsen, Neil Patrick Harris and Lisa Gay Hamilton. The plot of the story focuses on Kyle Kingson, a handsome man with an evil streak, who ditches a classmate who is a witch in disguise during an environmental bash. The witch, then, casts a spell on Kyle and physically transforms him into a grotesque monster.

Vanessa Hudgens is Linda Taylor, the “beauty” of the story. She remarked that she fell for this project from the moment she read Barnz’s screenplay. Out of the rest of the cast, Hudgens’ involvement was first heard in early April.

Alex Pettyfer is Kyle Kingson/Hunter: the handsome man with an ugly streak who gets transformed when he ditches a girl at his school in a school event. The producers released a statement that they were seeking a teen actor in the vein of Robert Pattinson for the role of Kyle. Pettyfer was in negotiations to star as Kyle, and was eventually officially cast in late April 2009. Pettyfer had gained 12-15 pounds of muscle for the role and had to shave his hair.

Beastly is coming to theaters on July 30, 2010.
